An organization based on Andhra Pradesh is looking for a bioinformatics professional with the following requirements.
Background:
Wanted biologist turned manager interested in computational
biology to help manage a bioinformatics and genomics software
development project and Bcoordinate community outreach and training.
Responsibilities:
Helping to lead a small bioinformatics team, the incumbent will
provide project management, community outreach and training for
web-based bioinformatics tool targeted at biologist and computational
biologist users. The candidate will be responsible for project
management (i.e., recruiting; reporting; prioritizing software
features; user testing of software; organizing and chairing meetings),
training (i.e., creating education material; organizing online and
in-person tutorials and workshops), and community outreach (i.e.,
presenting at conferences; identifying and reaching out to scientist
users; soliciting, responding to and tracking user feedback,
advertising the project by writing website content, tracking usage
statistics, working with relevant organizations like biological
standards organizations and model organism database groups) to
coordinate development.
Requirement:
M.Sc. in bioinformatics (or a related field), and interested in
teaching or an Ph.D. in genomics or bioinformatics with experience in
teaching.
Preference:
Someone who is an organizational genius, who has a
go-getter personality, excellent communication, public speaking,
writing, project management and leadership skills.
Location:
This research project is situated in the newly built Bio-Logistics, a
centre in genomics, proteomics and systems biology research, in the
heart of the exciting cosmopolitan city of Visakhaptnam.
