CFTRI, Mysore, Karnataka invites applicationd for the following short term training program.

Molecular Biology Techniques in Microbiology

The training programme would focus:
 Isolation, purification, restriction digestion and analysis of nucleic acids
 Transformation  in  Escherichia coli and Bacillus subtilis and recombinant analysis
 In vitro amplification of gene, cloning of PCR product in T-tail vector.
 Inverse PCR for flanking region analysis, Microbial diversity by RFLP and RAPD studies
 Blotting techniques for detection of gene and products and enzyme activity assay by Zymogram
 Heterologous expression in  E coli for recombinant protein production
 Construction of cell reporter assays for high throughput screening of antibiotics and other stresses. 
 Practical (hands on  training) on above aspects of routine and advanced molecular techniques and lectures on  bioinformatics,  nanotechnology,proteomics, metagenomics will be dealt in the course.


Eligibility:
Knowledge of the subject under focus, preferably a basic degree. The medium of presentation and interaction is in English.
