According to C Swaminathan, Vice-chancellor of Bharathiar University, “All the three papers of the SET examination proposed to be held on October 7 will be in objective mode. All the three papers of SET consisted of only objective type questions.
Last time, the university conducted the SET examination for 27 subjects. However, this time, it could be conducted for a few more subjects. “A team of experts from UGC and faculties of Bharathiar University will frame the question papers for the SET examination,” Swaminathan added. This time, the UGC has decided to issue application forms through online. SET will he conducted in 10 cities including nine in Tamil Nadu and one in Puducherry. The Bharathiar University conducted the last SET on August 14. Even though 50,629 applied for the test, only 41,164 wrote it. Among them, only 1,396 candidates (3.39 %) cleared the test.
