The Indian Council of Medical Research jointly with National Institute of Health is conducting a one month training program in bioethics at Banglore.
Free training:
Boarding and lodging and course materials would be provided by ICMR. Travel expenses will be borne by participant/participant’s institution. A total of 30 trainees will be selected for the course.
Course coverage:
The course would cover topics in yoga and bioethics; philosophy; law; research ethics involving clinical research on drug development, traditional medicine, genetics and biotechnology, and HIV/AIDS; clinical ethics; international research ethics; research methodologies; publication ethics and art of writing; teaching skills and distance education; resource allocation and ethics committee functioning.
Eligibility:
Appropriate candidates include researchers who are working in the Universities, Ministries, government or private organizations involved in health research, as well as professionals working with institutional ethics committees.
Postgraduate in Life Sciences & teachers of of bioethics.
Tentative dates of Course:
01 September – 30 September 2008.
Venue:
St. John’s National Academy of Health Sciences, Bangalore,Karnataka.
